Someone recently put up a help flag saying they knew lot’s of wedding musicians but didn’t know where to start looking for someone to play at a funeral. Ultimately we are the same musicians.
Having said that, with a wide base of musician friends, many say to me: “I don’t know how you can sing at a funeral, I just couldn’t”. I must admit it isn’t always easy but I always feel it is a privilege. That a family would invite you into their most private moment to help them say farewell and celebrate the life of a loved one.
There are many gorgeous songs and hymns that are appropriate to play during a ceremony whether it be in a sacred or civil setting.
