Adjudicator And Judge

The role of adjudicator holds an important responsibility in an eisteddfod. A lot of time and effort goes into each and every performance on that stage.

Whether you are six or sixty it is a daunting experience to share your art form in front of your friends, your peers and an audience.

There are many factors to take into account whilst judging. Your comments can influence a performer on many levels.

It is important to critique with fairness and positivisty.

It is an honour to be invited to adjudicate and to share your knowledge.

D’Arne gained a love of adjudicating after an invitation to judge a “Senior Superstar” competition in 2015 and the vocal and choral disciplines for the Mackay Eisteddfod in 2016. In 2019 she was invited to adjudicate vocal, choral and drama for Coffs Harbour and District Eisteddfod, vocal and choral for Dalby and Maryborough eisteddfods and for the annual Fairholme College Toowoomba vocal soiree. She is looking forward to judging in Taree and on the Sunshine Coast in 2020 amongst other performing and adjudicating opportunities.

INSPIRING!

D’Arne, thanks for bringing together a wonderful group again who gave us solos, duets, trios of music for everyone.  It was an inspiring evening. I continually ask myself – How did we ever come to be blessed with great performers like those who are happy to give a concert to our group of seniors, their family and friends?  You have brought the joy of music into the lives of so many people along with a laugh and a few tears.
